Dining Out for Life is a one-day restaurant fund raising event held in over 25 cities nationwide. This years event is scheduled for April 27, 2006; the St. Therese Center (who provides support services to those affected by AIDS in southern Nevada) is in need of restaurants that are willing to participate. If you own, manage, or work for a restaurant that is interested please contact Fr. Joseph or Arlene at 702-564-4224.

A Word from the Director
This is a financial summary of the last fiscal year (July 1, 2004-June 30, 2005). The Diocese of Las Vegas subsidized the Newman Community at the amount of $118,519. This included the salaries, programs, office supplies, computer supplies, books and periodicals, conferences and publicity. We are very grateful to the Diocese for supporting our ministry at the University.

The Newman Community generated income thru parking ($4,583), Sunday Offering ($7,330.45) and gifts ($8,609). From our own income we took care of maintaining the parking lot, sent students to conferences, supported homecoming activities, bought a power point projector and subsidized the food after Masses.

I urge every member to make a financial contribution towards the support of your faith community. Remember what St. Paul said “God loves a cheerful giver”. Make a financial commitment to your community today. Thank you for your support.

Love and Peace,
Fr. Albert, O.P.

Small Groups
Please take a minute to look at the descriptions and sign up sheets of the small groups that will be offered the first week in October. We would like these groups to be a success and need your support in doing that. Each of the five groups have differing topics, days and times of meeting. You are welcome to join multiple groups and bring friends. We hope to see you there!
