A Time to Build Capital Campaign

The St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Newman Community has been serving the University community at UNLV since 1960. That year, Fr. Leo McFadden started the "Newman Club." He originally held meetings at Bishop Gorman High School. In 1974, the Diocese contributed towards the building of the Interfaith Student Center. The Newman Community has since been conducting their worship, meetings, social events, and classes at this center.

When the Dominicans came to UNLV in 1998, Bishop Daniel Walsh expressed his desire to build a Chapel and a new center for the University community, especially for the students to have a place to worship. Our Bishop Joseph Pepe supports wholeheartedly the building of a new Center and Chapel.

The time has come to build a new place of our own. We have the property in place and we are asking the Las Vegas community to help us build our own Chapel and Newman Center for the students and University community. A building fund has been created and development efforts have begun to take steps toward the establishment of a University Chapel on the campus of UNLV.

You are invited to be a partner in our future. The conceptual architectural renderings, designed by Lucchesi Galati, will one day become a reality.

Please help us make our dream come true by sending a financial contribution towards the Building Fund. All contributions are tax deductible.
